Journalist Murder in Gazipur: UK Bangla Press Club Condemns and Demands Safety Assurance

The UK Bangla Press Club has strongly condemned and protested the brutal murder of Asaduzzaman Tuhin, Staff Reporter of the daily Protidiner Kagoj in Gazipur. The condemnation came in a joint statement signed by the organisation’s President, Reza Ahmed Chowdhury Foysal Soeb, and General Secretary, Arif Mahfuz.
The statement said that on Thursday, 7 August, at around 8:00 pm, journalist Tuhin was mercilessly hacked to death in public in front of a shop near Masjid Market at the busy Chandna Chowrasta in Gazipur city. This gruesome incident has created extreme fear and concern among the journalist community.
The UK Bangla Press Club demanded the immediate arrest of the killers, a proper investigation, and exemplary punishment under the existing law. They also called on the interim government to ensure the safety and security of journalists across the country.
