Trump’s Entire Claim Is Baseless and False: Iran’s Speaker Ghalibaf
Tehran, March 23: Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf has stated that US President Donald Trump’s entire claim regarding negotiations is “baseless” and “false.” He made the remarks following recent reports published by some Israeli media outlets and statements made by Trump.
In a statement, Ghalibaf made it clear that no talks have taken place with the United States. He said, “Our people demand a complete and humiliating punishment for the aggressors. Until this goal is achieved, all officials will stand firmly alongside their leader and the people.”
In this context, he is believed to have been alluding to Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
The top Iranian official also highlighted the motives behind spreading false news. He stated, “False news is being spread to influence financial and oil markets and to help the United States and Israel escape the difficult situation they are trapped in.”
Earlier, some Israeli media outlets had claimed that Trump’s representatives had spoken with Ghalibaf in recent days. Trump himself told reporters that the United States is negotiating with someone “whom I consider the most respected and a leader.” He also mentioned announcing control over the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with an Ayatollah.
Dismissing Trump’s claims as baseless and false, Ghalibaf made it clear that Tehran is not currently engaging in any diplomatic talks with the United States.
